    -------------

It was nearly mid-afternoon as you slowly walked onto one of the many paths in the park here in the city. You weren’t sure why you had come to this place but one thing’s for sure, you wanted air and this was the next best thing. After everything that had happened a couple of days ago with him you needed it. As you let your legs take you around, you slowly looked around your figure finding people walking or playing around. It was nice to see people out and about. Smiling, you adjusted your messenger bag a bit until it was sitting comfortably on your shoulder again. Of course you had your sketch book with you so what’s wrong with drawing a bit today.

Growing a bit inspired, you made your way towards a bench and sat down pulling out your sketch book and pencil. Pulling a leg up for leverage, you looked around trying to pinpoint something or someone to draw. You smiled seeing a couple of birds playing in a nearby puddle and started to sketch that. You really needed something to keep your mind occupied otherwise you would start to dread the day. After all just last night Ciara had told you she was going to hang out with him today. And it drove you wild. Of course you didn’t tell her that. You didn’t know why but it made your stomach twist and turn just at the thought of her with him. Were you becoming jealous of Ciara now? Ever since he and you kept talking through messages you were starting crave those moments. More than you ever had before. But what is going to become of it? You didn’t know, you weren’t sure if you wanted to know just yet.

Sighing, you put down your halfway finished sketch and looked up at the sky. What were you going to do? Not finding an answer in the clouds, you looked back at the birds and found them still bathing. Smiling, you slowly started to stand up, putting your things away, not feeling like sketching anymore and made your way back to the path. Within a couple of minutes you were already making way towards the central part of the park where the fountain was. Maybe you can cool down there. Keeping your gaze on the ground, you continued your walk until you started hearing voices. Not the normal crowded voices but voices that you knew or rather recognized. Slowly confused, you looked up just as you were about to walk into the central part of the park only to freeze. Instantly, you wished you hadn’t looked.

A good distance away, you found your friend, Ciara, and Miyuki talking and having fun like the day would never end. Startled by the sight, you quickly looked around only to duck behind a tree hoping they didn’t see you. To your luck they hadn’t. Clutching onto your bag’s strap you tried to calm down your stomach and thoughts. But it was hopeless. Your whole self was having an emotional earthquake. Why were they here!? You thought they would go somewhere like a movie theatre or a mall or something else! But obviously, you were wrong, so dead wrong.

Tightening your grip on your strap, you slowly peaked around the tree’s bark and saw them laughing at something. They were having a blast… You slowly felt your grip loosen up as your heart fell a bit in your chest. You knew it. That question he threw at you the other day about Ciara was just nothing after all. You guessed he was just curious. Not wanting to go anywhere near them, you slowly walked out and away from the tree towards the way you came. Why did they have to come here? You wanted to go out to get that out of your mind but you should have stayed inside instead. But you didn’t and this is what you got in return.

Sighing, you walked out of the park wanting something to get your thoughts to calm down. Looking up from the ground you instantly saw a savor to your dismay. A café. Something Ciara would never go into and something you obviously needed. Walking inside, you found a seat in the back wanting to be alone with your thoughts. Giving a small sigh once more, you set your bag down onto the table and hid your face within the folds of your arms. Did the world hate you today? Is that why you stumbled across those two?

Grumbling a bit, you got up from your seat and went up to the counter to order your drink. As you paid for it, you heard the door open and close with a small jingle. Ignoring the sound, you took your change and drink and started to head back to your table. But to your surprise that plan was suddenly interrupted when you turned too fast, straight into someone’s chest. Instantly your drink spilled over onto not just you but the person in front of you. Both of you hissed in pain from the hot beverage as you dropped the cup and instantly pulled your scolding shirt away from your burning skin.

“Shit,” You mumbled with annoyance. “Great, just great.”

“Now that wasn’t very nice,” You froze upon hearing that voice and looked up. Your eyes connected with his brown ones while he started to clean up his shirt a bit. What’s hi doing here!? “Not only do you draw too much, you’re clumsy to?” He snickers a bit.

“Wha—” Your words stuck in your throat. When did he show up? And where was Ciara? You started to look around trying to find her but saw nothing.

“And what’s with the language?” He grins totally ignoring the fact that you had just dumped a hot drink onto him.

“How—” You tried to make conversation but failed looking back at him confused.

“What, no retort?” He grabbed for a napkin from a nearby table and dried his shirt a bit giving you a small smirk. “That’s weird coming from you.”

“Weren’t you just with—” You tried again only to stop suddenly knowing that he didn’t know that you saw him with Ciara today. Trying to distract him from your words you leaned down and grabbed your drink or rather what’s left of it and threw it away. “Never mind.”

“Mm,” He gave you a look of curiosity as he finished up only to grab some more napkins and started to clean up your mess. “Never mind what?”

“H-Hey!” You saw him kneel down only to grab some napkins yourself and knelt down next to him puffing your cheeks out and started to wipe it up with him. “What are you doing? This was my mess not yours.”

“Yeah,” He finished up. “But you weren’t doing anything so I did.”

    “But—”

“And you didn’t answer my question yet,” He smirks ignoring your splutter of words and threw away the messy napkins as so did you once you saw the floor was clean-ish.

    “So?” You ignored it.

“So,” He raised an eyebrow and studied his drying shirt a bit. “I want to know what you were going to say.”

“T-That’s none of your business,” You huffed and grabbed some more napkins and started cleaning your shirt before heading back to your table. He instantly followed in your wake causing you to stop and look at him. “What do you think you’re doing?”

“Nothing,” He shrugged. “You haven’t answering my question so I’m not leaving until you do.” He grins knowing you would hate this.

“You’re unbelievable,” You scoffed noticing Ciara wasn’t with him still and sat down in your chair. Without even asking, he sat down across from you scooting your bag a bit away to make some room for him. “Make yourself comfortable, jeez.”

He watched you for a second noticing your sour mood only to lean back into his chair grinning, “Don’t mind if I do.”

“Whatever,” You sighed and looked at your shirt again only to lift it slightly seeing the red skin underneath it. Wincing a bit at the sight, you sighed again this time louder not liking how this turned out.

“Having a bad day?” You heard his voice question in front of you.

“You could say that,” You frowned a bit not looking him in the eye. Instead you focused on your bag and started to mess with its strap. He can’t find out that he was the reason why your day had turned so sour after that scene in the park. Well it’s more like your jealousy had but he can’t know that either. Wait, since when did you get jealous over this man?

“Mm,” He hummed knowing you were hiding something.

“Sorry by the way,” You tried to change the subject. You didn’t like how the air was turning awkward not to mention you wanted to ignore your burning stomach. “For spilling my coffee on you…”

“Hm?” He looks over at you then back at his shirt then yours noticing your burn. “I wouldn’t worry about it, it was an accident after all. However,” He motioned to your shirt. “I think you need to worry about yourself more than me.”

“Wha?” You grew confused as he stood up and grabbed for your hand and headed towards the bathrooms. “H-Hey! What are you doing!?”

“Just follow me,” His expression closed off again. What was he planning?

A bit flustered and confused you watched as he pushed into the men’s bathroom causing you to redden at the thought.

“H-Hey I can’t go in here!” You pulled on his grasp trying to break free but he just tightened his grip only to stop in front of the sinks and started the cold water leaving it run for a bit as he turned towards you.

“Lift up your shirt,” He bluntly told you.

“My what!?” You instantly drew your arms close to your body. You felt insanely vulnerable right now and you had no clue on what he was going to do yet.

“Your shirt,” He sighed and grabbed for some paper towels and folded them neatly before putting them under the cold water. “Lift it up a bit so I can tend that burn of yours.”

Now this shocked you but you slowly did as he told showing him your burn not uttering any words this time. You watched as he rung out some of the water from the towel only to gently press it against your stinging skin causing you to wince a bit in pain. Flustered and rather embarrassed you looked down at the ground as he continued to tend your small wound. Why was he helping you? What did he have to gain by doing this? And shouldn’t he be with Ciara anyway? Plus this was your fault anyway yet he was the one helping you, shouldn’t it be the other way around? Speaking of… You look over as he carefully got the towel cool again and looked at his stained shirt. Didn’t he get burned? Feeling a bit guilty you slowly opened your mouth letting out a small squeak as you tried to form words causing his gaze to find yours.

    “What?” He raised his eyebrows.

“Um,” You hesitated only to look back down at his shirt with a small frown. He followed your gaze only to understand and snickered a bit.

“Oh I see now,” He gently pressed the towel back onto your burning skin again. “Don’t tell me you’re actually worried that I got hurt now?” You stood there shocked once more. How can he do that? A little annoyed you puffed out your cheeks and scoffed ignoring his gaze again. He watched you for another second before letting a small smile to find its way onto his lips knowing you weren’t looking. “But to answer your question, no I didn’t get hurt. I’m fine.” Surprised you looked back at him as his lips started to smirk again. “Although I can’t say the same about my shirt now.”

Now that snapped your attitude into two.

“Well excuse me for being clumsy,” You puffed out your cheeks once again letting your emotions take control of your actions. “It’s not like I meant to do it although, now I’m glad it did.”

“What?” He stopped in his tracks and gave you a look of confusion and possibly some annoyance hearing your attitude turn cold.  “What do you mean by that?”

Realizing what you just said, you looked over at him only to clear your throat not sure on what to do next, “Well you see—” But you suddenly remembered seeing him with Ciara causing your jaw to lock up as you looked away again. “Never mind, it’s nothing.” With that hung in the air you pulled down your shirt and started to pull on the door to leave only to be stopped by his rather forceful push. You looked up at his firm hand on the door and traveled back to him only to see his expression closed while his glasses reflected a bit in the light.

“It’s obviously not nothing,” His voice rung cold. “Why won’t you tell me what’s bothering you?”

You bite your lip out of nervousness and slight fear as you watched him while he stood there. This was a new side of him you haven’t seen before and honestly it wasn’t exactly pleasant. So taking a small shaky breath you held your ground and frowned a bit at him.

“I have my reasons,” You stubbornness is starting to show. “So just drop it.”

His eyes bore into you causing you to bite your lip again not enjoying his piercing gaze. But it soon ended as he let out a small sigh before slowly moving his hand away from the door.

“Fine,” He roughly threw away the paper towel. “If that’s how you want to be. So be it.” He gave you another look before sighing and reached behind you, pulling onto the door making you move away from it. “Make sure to take care of that burn [l/n].” And with that he left the bathroom.

Standing there speechless, you slowly came out of your daze only to slowly fall apart. You bite your lip not letting your tears to form and swallowed that annoying lump back down your throat. What had you just done? Ignoring your burn, you pulled open the bathroom door keeping your gaze low not wanting to look anyone in the eye and went to your table. You quickly grabbed for your bag and rushed to the door as you continued to bite your lip almost to the point to where it bleed. Walking fast, you swallowed down the god awful lump again trying to keep your vision clear and made your way back to your house.

Once you made it to your house, you were a complete mess. You quickly scrambled for your keys and slammed the door open before slamming it shut. You threw off your shoes, coat, and bag while your parents walked in a bit confused and concerned. But you didn’t pay any attention to them as you stormed passed them and walked upstairs to your room. You quickly tore open your door only to quickly shut it with your body when you were inside before slowly catching your breath. That’s when it hit you.

Within a matter of seconds you let out a small sob and slid down your door slumping down onto your floor leaning back onto the door. What had you done? Why did you suddenly shut him out? Why did you have to be so stubborn and just tell him what you saw? But you didn’t and now he’s mad at you… Or at least you think he was. You mean, with the tone he used you were positive that he was. Not to mention, he used your last name instead of your first… That’s when you knew he was really angry with you. Sobbing, you drew in your legs to your chest and buried your face into your knees and arms wanting to shut out everything.

This was the last thing you wanted to happen. And now you might have lost a chance to even talk to him ever again. Great…

    Just. Fucking. Great.

    To be continued…

This one was a little more feelzy but I couldn't help it :3 hehehe
